Wetenschappelijke beoordeling van e-sigaretten

10 juni 2014

In February 2014, the European Parliament approved a revised European Union Tobacco Product Directive that regulates e-cigarettes with nicotine concentrations up to 20 mg/mL as tobacco products.
Researchers at the University of California, USA conducted a scientific review of e-cigarettes. They found that, although data are limited, e-cigarette emissions are not merely “harmless water vapor” and can be a source of indoor air pollution. They conclude that to minimize the potential negative impacts on prevention and cessation and the undermining of existing tobacco control measures e-cigarettes should be subject to the same marketing restrictions as tobacco cigarettes.
