VS: Beperkingen voor BPA, ftalaten, zware metalen en PVC in Hawaïaanse wetgeving

26 februari 2014

According to Hawaii SB 2573 toys and children’s product may not contain bisphenol A (BPA). The amount of DEHP, DBP, and BBP is limited to 0.1% each. The amount of DINP, DIDP and DNOP is limited to 0.1% each in products intended for use by a child under three years of age and small enough to fit in a child's mouth. The bill places restrictions on what substitute chemicals may be used to replace BPA and the phthalates.
Packaging may not contain “intentionally introduced” lead, cadmium, mercury, or hexavalent chromium in concentrations greater than 100 parts per million by weight. All restrictions would take effect on January 1, 2015 (Recycling Laws International, 27 januari 2014).
