LCA voor verlaging CO2-uitstoot van chemicaliënverpakking

27 november 2017

The purpose of this paper was to analyse the development trend of hazardous chemical packaging towards low carbon economy from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives. Four types of relatively small volume packaging with volume/weight less than 450L/400kg, and three intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) were studied.
The results showed that the majority of IBCs have a lower carbon footprint than other types when containing the same amount of the same chemical. With the development of international trading, the demand of hazardous chemicals will increase as well. Increasing the amount of IBC use will effectively reduce the relative amount of carbon emission (Preprints, 6 november 2017).
