French Packaging Council: Packaging-content compatibility

In November 2017 the French Packaging Council (Conseil National de l’Emballage) published a document that tackles the issues of compatibility between packaging and its content. It therefore serves as a reminder of regulatory obligations for each actor within the production-packaging chain, and also serves as a reminder of the responsibilities of all to establish conformity for the compatibility.
The document underlines that compatibility requires several aspects, including the mechanical performance of the packaging-content pair, the stability of the packed product (quality of the packaged product, migration of substances, etc.) and the environmental compatibility, which must be controlled.
