VS: Amerikaanse Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) stelt nieuw wetsvoorstel voor ter bescherming van consumenten door retailers te verplichten de bronnen van gehakt vlees te traceren

10 september 2014

The rule would improve traceability of contaminated raw ground products and prevent foodborne illness, as the FSIS would be able to conduct recalls timelier and maintain improved records on sources of the ground products. Retailers are required to keep clear records identifying the source, supplier and names of all ingredients used in the preparation of raw ground beef products.
The proposal is in line with FSIS efforts to target food safety prevention to secure public health. It has been posted July 16th on the FSIS website and will be published in the Federal Register. Stakeholders are invited to submit comments via the online Federal eRulemaking Portal (Nieuwsbericht FSIS, 16 juli 2014).
