USA: Onderzoek van Chapman Universiteit onthult onjuiste etikettering voor diervoeder

30 oktober 2014

A recent research on meat species in pet food shows that not all brands follow labelling regulations. Of the 52 pet food products for dogs and cats, 31 were labelled correctly, 20 were mislabelled and one contained a non-specific meat ingredient that could not be verified.
The foods developed for pets are regulated by both federal and state entities. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration Center for Veterinary Medicine regulates animal feed and pet foods. The U.S. Department of Agriculture regulates the interstate transportation and processing of animal products, as well as the inspection of animal product imports and exports (Persbericht Chapman Universiteit, 16 september 2014).
