Prestatie van rijstkaf als buffermateriaal

31 oktober 2014

Researchers at the Christian Brothers University USA compared the shock absorption property of rice hulls with bubble wraps and anti-vibration rubber pads.
They found that that using loose rice hulls reduces the impact acceleration about 25% from a base value which was not as effective as bubble wrap and anti-vibration pad. There are two problems with loose rice hulls: when wet, they become less effective in shock absorption and they are harder to handle. Bagged rice hulls solve these problems and increases the shock absorption to the level of performance of bubble wrap. An article about the research is published in the International Journal of Advanced Packaging Technology.
