Frankrijk: Senaat begint debat over nieuw recycling logo Triman

15 januari 2014

The French Senate has started debate on a bill requiring that a new recycling label be placed on most recyclable products. The expectation is that the new symbol, to be placed along other eco markings, will increase the recycling rate. Within Senate Bill No. 45, article 16 states that effective January 1, 2015, all products covered under a French extended producer responsibility agreement, with the exception of household glass containers, would need to display the so called Triman Mark. On the day after the bill was introduced in the Senate, a group of 21 European industry associations issued a joint position statement opposed to the proposed mark (Recycling Laws International, 18 december 2013).
