Californië wil permanente verplichting BPA-waarschuwingen

30 augustus 2016

In April, the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) announced a new regulation to "provide a safe harbor warning method and content for exposures to BPA from canned foods and beverages sold at retail level." The regulation followed a decision in May 2015 to add bisphenol A (BPA) to the Proposition 65 list of chemicals known to cause reproductive toxicity.
On 29 July, OEHHA filed notice to make the regulation "permanent," or at least until December 30, 2017, when the regulation will expire. The original temporary rule would have expired in 180 days. Stakeholders can comment on the OEHHA regulation through September 26 (Recycling Laws International, 2 augustus 2016).
