Bedrukken van verpakkingen belangrijkste groeifactor voor wereldwijde pigmentmarkt
Printed packaging is the most dynamic growth factor in the worldwide pigment market up to 2020, reports Ceresana in its Market Study: Pigments 3rd edition. Ceresana forecasts global revenues generated with pigments to increase to US$34.2 billion in 2020.
Pigments are mainly used in the production of paints and varnishes as well as the coloring of plastics and construction materials. Other applications are: manufacturing of printing inks and paper.
The largest sector is the construction sector, the processing of plastics is second with 27% of pigment demand. Plastics will develop at the second highest growth rates in the future, after printed packaging.
