US: Nationale regelgeving recycling verpakkingen voorgesteld

12 mei 2015

At the end of April 2015 a bill to create the Land-Based Marine Debris Reduction Act was introduced in the U.S. Congress. The bill is H.R.1960 and it sets goals to recycle at least 50% of all US municipal solid waste by 2020 and 65% by 2030. It also sets goals to prevent increases in the amount of waste disposed in landfills and in the flow of marine debris into the ocean.
The bill requires the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to “identify categories of products or packaging that shall be targeted for regulatory action, among other things. The bill was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce (State Recycling Laws Update, 7 mei 2015).
