Scriptie: 3D vormprocessen voor papieren materialen

25 september 2015

For his thesis at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden, Eric Linvill studied various 3D forming processes for paper materials. Since these processes typically include the application of moisture and/or temperature, their effects on the mechanical response of paper were also investigated.
The 3D forming processes of deep-drawing and hydroforming were studied. Increases in die temperature and reductions in friction between the paper and the tooling were both found to have positive effects (i.e. increases in die temperature and reductions of friction were both found to decrease the punch force in deep-drawing and increase the final formed volume in hydroforming).
