OECD helpt veiligheidstesten nanomaterialen standaardiseren

30 juni 2015

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) published information on the accuracy of tests used to determine the safety of nanomaterials. This programme should give member governments confidence that the use of the OECD test guidelines to determine the impact that nanomaterials may have on the environment or human health are suitable in the most part.
The European Chemicals Agency essentially endorsed the testing information and listed 11 nanomaterials that REACH registrants should consider when updating dossiers. Among the nanomaterials are carbon nanotubes, silver, titanium dioxide, cerium dioxide, zinc oxides and fullerenes (Recycling Laws International, 15 juni 2015).
