Organisaties op het gebied van medicijnen starten wereldwijde gezamenlijke campagne tegen namaakmedicijnen

02 januari 2014

The pharmaceutical industry has joined forces with governments and healthcare organisations to fight counterfeit (packaged) drugs via the Fight the Fakes campaign.
In high income countries, counterfeit medicines are less than 1% of market value, however figures rise to 10% globally and in some areas of Asia, Africa and Latin America they may even account 30% of medicines in circulation. In Africa, 1/3 of all malaria medicines are probably fake. It is estimated that one medicine in two purchased on illegal internet sites that hide their physical address is fake. Packaging can play an important role in preventing counterfeit.
