Consumer International en de World Obesity Federation eisen plan om voedingsgerelateerde gezondheidsproblemen te bestrijden

24 juni 2014

Consumer International and the World Obesity Federation called on the 67th World Health Assembly to develop a global convention to fight diet-related ill health, similar to the legal framework for tobacco control. An unhealthy diet is one of the three leading causes of disease and early death.
The report has been developed to call for strong government commitment to introduce a number of legally binding policy measures designed to help consumers make healthier choices and improve nutrition security. Improving the provision of nutrition information and reformulating unhealthy food products would be direct consequences for labelling (Consumer International Nieuwsbericht, 18 mei 2014).
