Prestatie secundaire bierverpakking

27 februari 2017

Optimal beer packaging should minimize the impact of temperature changes and vibrations, which occur during transport. Researchers at the University Of Antwerp in Belgium studied the performance of different beer packagings (BP) regarding vibration damping and thermal insulation. Three BP’s were tested (cardboard crate, cardboard crate + plastic film and plastic crate).
Cardboard in combination with plastic film appeared to be the best packaging strategy due to the positive thermal insulation properties of cardboard. The plastic film ties the beer bottles together leaving little space for the bottles to move. An article about the research is published in Food Packaging and Shelf Life.
